The upper house of the Indian Parliament Rajya Sabha has witnessed something surprising as the Aam Aadmi party MPs have proposed a merger with the BJP.
This announcement was made by none other than AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha a short while back. He stepped out along with Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak as he announced the proposal of the AAP merging with BJP.
We have decided that we, the 2/3rd members belonging to the AAP in Rajya Sabha, exercise the provisions of the Constitution of India and merge ourselves with the BJP, the AAP MP said on the occasion.
This was always expected to be the case as Raghav was getting latently ignored by AAP leadership. In fact, the party had recently notified the Raja sabha speaker, not to consider Raghav as a representative of the party and asked him not to provide any mic time to the latter.
This was quickly followed by the union government according highest calibre security to Raghav, which made it clear that his move to BJP was always going to be on the cards.
And now the inevitable has happened as the AAP MPs have communicated that they’re wishing to merge with the BJP for good which marks the end of AAP representation in the upper house and adds more strength to BJP here.
