Guess who sat on the road on dharna? It is none other than Municipal Administration, Urban Development and IT Minister KTR. KTR, who is also TRS party working president, has sat on dharna following party chief KCR’s order to participate in Bharat Bandh, the bandh call given by protesting farmers against the Centre’s three farm bills.
KTR sat on Shadnagar highway. Holding a placard ‘I Stand With Farmers’, the placard reads Farmers, Not Terrorists’. Accompanying KTR was Keshav Rao. “The 3 agricultural laws newly enacted by Center are against the interests of the farmers of our country. They are in no way beneficial to the farmers, indeed they aggravate farm crisis. That is why the TRS party is opposing these laws,” said KTR.
“The new law allows corporates to engage in Contract Farming. However, it is clear that these contracts are only a boon to mighty corporates and risk the rights of our farmers. The Stock Limit Under the ‘Essentials Commodities Act’ was set up to prevent the black market, has been amended in the new Laws. With this, there is a risk that traders create artificial shortages & inflate prices. This is detrimental to both farmers and consumers#FarmersProtest,” added KTR.
KCR’s daughter and MLC Kavitha along with TRS leaders blocked the Hyderabad-Nagpur highway. She spotted holding the placard “KCR with farmers — Withdraw farm Bills’. Apart from KTR, ministers Talasani, Srinivas Goud, Puvvada Ajay, MP Nama Nageswara Rao and several senior leaders of the party participated in Bharat Bandh.
