For the first time in many decades, a cinema superstar was able to form the single largest party and potentially becoming the CM in his first ever election campaign. This happened in Tamil Nadu as Vijay has created this piece of history yesterday in the assembly election.
There are reports about Vijay possibility taking charge as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7, and this is subject to change based on the equations.
Meanwhile, the latest discussions have already started about the future of Tamil film industry under Thalapathy Vijay’s tenure as CM.
The first point of discussion, here is the arrival of Tamil Star Surya and Trisha’s Karuppu film. This rustic action film is releasing in the theatres on May 14, and this happens to be the first film to release under Vijay’s time as the CM.
In this connection, the fans of Surya have reportedly decided to request the authorities to permit the log forgotten early morning cinema shows culture in Tamil Nadu.
Incidentally, the Tamil Nadu government had banished early morning shows many years ago and the first permitted show starts at 9 AM. This resulted in several star Hero films losing significant revenue in the rural areas where the early morning shows culture is prevalent.
And now that Vijay is the chief ministerial candidate, he’s aware of the situations in Tamil cinema. So the members of the Tamil film industry are also hoping that Vijay will be lenient towards them.
This is on the lines of Pawan Kalyan, elected as the deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh and the film industry hoping great things of him.
We shall wait and see if Vijay will turn out to be a rescuing force for Tamil film industry like how Pawan Kalyan is for the Telugu film industry in Andhra Pradesh.
