What Happens If AIADMK & DMK Forms Govt In Tamil Nadu?

Thalapathy Vijay failed to convince the Governor to allow him to take oath and later prove the majority on the Floor of the Assembly.

Vijay met the Governor two times but to of no use. There were reports that he is in consultation with the Legal Experts and may approach the Courts over the Governor’s Opinion.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that AIADMK may form the Government with other parties in coalition and DMK giving support from Outside. If that happens, it is unprecedented because both the Dravidian Parties have been arch-rivals for decades.

But what if that happens?

There is a feeling that the Public will be angry with both the parties and their Sympathy will be with Vijay and his TVK Party. Vijay’s Supporters feel that sympathy will help the party in Parliament elections.

But then, Parliament elections are two and a half years away. Keeping the MLAs together will be a bigger challenge for Vijay. It will be trouble if many of them slip and join other parties. Also, Vijay has to swim against tide with a hostile government.

He managed to win this election more with his Charisma than hard work. Before the elections, his opponents would call him ‘Work from Home’ politician because he was never into people. He was on ground only 7-8 months before the election.

Being in the people for next five years and playing the role of an active opposition is extremely difficult, demanding, and costly. It also needs vast experience and ground-level structure to mobilize the cadre.

Once the opportunity to form the Government is gone, the cadres may also lose the motivation. So, Vijay will definitely have the sympathy but it is very hard to sustain it until the Parliament elections or the next Assembly elections. Hence TVK should grab the opportunity to form the Government somehow.

It will be an ideological blunder if DMK and AIADMK join hands. But traditional parties often do convenience politics. They will certain have a stain in the history books but then, they will not care to stop the third alternative.

We have seen TDP align with Congress in 2018 Telangana Assembly Elections. It is a blunder in the history of Telugu Desam Party but everyone moved on.

In this case, AIADMK and DMK will have guaranteed result of forming the Government and also stopping the third alternative. So, they will take the risk.
