Peak Indian Politics: Resignation, Appointment, Drama!

India is the biggest democratic nation in the world, and this naturally comes with a lot of complications and challenges. This is perfectly evident if we look at the case of several states across the country.

In West Bengal, the outgoing chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who failed to retain the government is creating a scene there. She is refusing to resign as the chief minister of Bengal despite losing power.

Her argument is that the central election commission had committed several fraudulent activities in the Bengal assembly election and is refusing to acknowledge her party, TMC’s defeat.

The situation is a complete 90° opposite in Tamil Nadu as Vijay, who has managed to form the single largest party with TVK is unable to convince the governor about his show of strength.

Tamil Nadu governor has been repeatedly rejecting Vijay’s advancement to become the chief minister as he is being asked to show his strength of 118 MLAs first. Subsequently, Tamil Nadu is unable to find its new chief minister, even after the election.

And then we have the case of Kerala, where the outgoing LDF has submit resignation, while ruling Congress-oriented UDF is struggling to fixate the chief minister. The governor is also prepared to nominate the chief minister, but the alliance is unable to lock in on the candidate.

The beauty of Indian democracy is brilliant display here as each of the states that have gone to election recently are finding themselves in extremely complex situations.
