The political discourse in Tamil Nadu is finally settling down with TVK president Vijay finally convincing the governor that he has required the support in the legislative assembly to form the government.
Vijay met the governor of Tamil Nadu a few minutes back and held a detailed briefing on the political developments. He reportedly assured the governor that he has the support of 118 MLAs to form the government and become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
This assurance came in the context of the recent inclusion of the Congress and the left parties CPI, CPM and VCK. While the Congress will continue as an alliance partner, CPI and CPM will be the operational alliance parties from the exterior. They will not be a part of the government.
Now that Vijay has convinced the governor that he has the numbers strength to form the government in Tamil Nadu, he is likely to take charge as the new chief minister at 11 in the morning tomorrow.
There are several media reports, claiming that the stage is being prepared for the swearing in ceremony of Vijay tomorrow and once this gets confirmed, it would be one of the biggest polticial events in south India in recent years.
