Vijay Fans Are Unable To Handle Political Pressure

South India has this very strong culture of hero worship and political affiliations, which can often cross the lines and create personal losses. We are witnessing something on these lines in Tamil Nadu now.

Earlier on the counting day, May 4, when the early trends were against Vijay’s TVK and the wave was in favour of DMK, a Vijay fan couldn’t take the result and slit open his throat.

Everyone was shocked to see a fan commit such an atrocious activity of slitting his own throat out of the might that Vijay’s TVK wasn’t winning the election. This was condemned by everyone.

And just when people were passed this, another shocking incident happened today. Apparently, another hard-core fan of Vijay did something extremely atrocious to himself that he set himself on fire.

Apparently, this individual who happens to be a strong supporter of Vijay is unable to pay the tension and delay in Vijay taking charge as the chief minister. Unable to pair this situation, he ended up, procuring fuel and setting himself on fire. His current medical condition is unknown.

It is one thing to support an actor and follow his principles and ideology, but inflicting self harm over individuals who are not even directly related to them is nothing but heinous thinking from fans. This culture really needs to stop at the earliest.

At the end of the day, these leaders and heroes stay in luxurious residences with their families but these self-harming fans will leave their families to hell with such thoughtless rhetoric, commented an anguished commoner on Twitter.
