It is already known that the global supply chain of essential commodities like petrol and diesel, and also luxury elements like gold have been fluctuating badly over the last few years. The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States is deteriorating the situation further.
While speaking out on this topic, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a very strong remark to make while he was addressing a massive public gathering in Hyderabad today.
The Prime Minister advised, the people of the country to reduce dependency on fuels like petrol and diesel as they’re largely imported from other countries and add a burden on the country’s economy. He called for increased usage of electronic alternatives for vehicles.
This was followed by a very interesting comment from Narendra Modi as he called Indians to avoid buying gold for the next 1 year in order to counterbalance the global economic slowdown. He said this would effectively enhance India’s standing in the global financial markets.
Interestingly, Prime Minister Modi also advised the industrial sector to bring back the work from home culture wherever possible. He reportedly stressed that reducing daily travel and fuel consumption could help conserve essential resources during the ongoing crisis situation.
The prime minister then advised the Indian population to avoid even foreign vacations and destination weddings in the near future. He said that money on foreign economy is not a good thing for India domestically.
But in the current generation, it is increasingly common for people to buy gold as an essential commodity, and also go on foreign vacations whenever they can. However, PM Modi wants affirmative action against this in order to decrease dependency on global markets.
