Wah, Pawan on Duty for Godavari Pushkaralu a Year Earlier!

With the Godavari Pushkaralu approaching next year, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has begun taking direct stock of preparations on the ground. Instead of limiting the review to meetings and presentations, he personally inspected pollution affected stretches of the Godavari River during a boat ride from Pushkar Ghat to Kotilingala Ghat in Rajamahendravaram.

Pawan’s focus was clear. He wants the upcoming Pushkaralu to be remembered not just as a grand spiritual event but as a pollution free celebration centered on river conservation. During the inspection, he closely examined areas where sewage and waste water enter the river and sought detailed explanations from officials about treatment methods and pollution control measures.

The Deputy CM stressed that a comprehensive audit must be conducted on all pollution sources flowing into the Godavari. He directed officials to identify problem areas, evaluate existing measures, and prepare a practical action plan rather than relying only on reports and estimates.

A major point of discussion was the large volume of sewage entering the river every day. Pawan insisted that scientific treatment methods must be adopted and that untreated waste should never be allowed to flow directly into the Godavari. He also called for the effective use of government funds to create long term solutions that benefit both devotees and the environment.

The issue of industrial pollution also came under scrutiny. Pawan reviewed concerns related to waste discharge from Andhra Paper Mills and asked officials to ensure faster implementation of alternative treatment systems while exploring additional safeguards.

What stood out throughout the visit was his hands on approach. From inspecting treatment facilities to questioning officials about waste management practices, Pawan appeared determined to ensure that preparations move beyond paperwork and deliver visible results.

If the government succeeds in implementing these measures, the next Godavari Pushkaralu could become a model for combining faith, environmental responsibility, and public infrastructure. For now, Pawan Kalyan seems firmly on duty, keeping a close watch on the river that holds immense cultural and spiritual significance for Andhra Pradesh.

He instructed the authorities that there must be no waste material or plastic items near the Godavari river, in order to prevent the water body from getting polluted by human discharge. It was made very clear that only bio degradable items must be permitted for circulation near the Pushkaralu.

On one hand, chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu has been emphasising on holding the Godavari Pushkaralu on every grand scale in order to invite attention to Andhra. Now that deputy CM is committed towards holding a clean and green Godavari Pushkaralu, which is an honest and appreciable gesture.
