But the point of difference here is that the Congress leadership at the central level had refused these speculations multiple times in the past.

Even a few months back, there were extensive reports that DK Siva Kumar might be replacing Siddaramaiah as the chief minister. However, this did not turn out to be the case.

And now we are witnessing a relapse in the speculations. This is possible due to the fact that there were reports that the Congress high command had previously promised chief minister position to Siva Kumar and they might have to stick to it.
