Pawan – Babu’s Too Much Love Hurting Both Cadres?

Telugu Desam Party is having its annual conclave, Mahanadu in Hybrid Model. To save fuel in the wake of fuel crisis, the Mahanadu from the Party office will be streamed live in all Party Offices across the state. So that the cadres need not come all the way to the venue in vehicles.

Mahanadu is supposed to be the venue where the discussions should happen about how the party and the Government is moving forward and how they should function especially as they are reaching half of this term.

But then a section of the Telugu Desam Party cadre is disgruntled with the way the Top Leadership is handling the Mahanadu. The Top Leadership, Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh did not even leave this venue to talk about Pawan Kalyan.

Nara Lokesh, the Party‘s Working President in his maiden address in that position went on to say how Pawan Kalyan was the first person to call him after Chandrababu‘s arrest and promised to support him in that crisis.

There is mention of Pawan Kalyan multiple times in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu‘s speech also. The other leaders are also picking up this habit from the Top Leadership.

TDP cadre are upset about this repeated mention of Pawan Kalyan even in party meetings also. They are of the opinion that Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh are giving an impression that the party is completely dependent on Pawan Kalayan and Janasena votes.

“We are fine respecting Pawan Kalyan. But then, a wrong message is being sent as if TDP is nothing without Janasena. TDP is the Major Partner in this alliance and Janasena is an add-on. If the Leadership gives this opinion, Janasena will bargain hard in the seat-sharing in coming elections,” they are saying.

This has been a Problem with Pawan Kalyan as well. The Deputy CM is taking Chandrababu Naidu‘s name too many times in his Party meetings which is not going well with Janasena Cadre. They are also questioning the same.

At the same time, Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Lokesh likely do not intend to hurt the sentiments of either party cadre. Their repeated mentions of each other appear to be more about maintaining political courtesy and acknowledging the mutual support that benefited both parties in the alliance.

It is now up to the three leaders to clearly communicate their intentions and convince both TDP and Janasena cadres that the alliance is based on respect, not dependency.
