Govt Officials Not Taking Pawan’s Orders Seriously?

Usually Many ministers complain that files move slowly in government offices. But in this case, it was Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan himself who found that his own instructions had not been acted upon even days after they were issued.

During his recent visit to Rajahmundry to review ‘Godavari Pushkaralu’ preparations, Pawan personally inspected several stretches along the river. What he saw reportedly left him concerned.

Industrial waste, sewage and garbage were flowing into the Godavari at multiple points. Pawan questioned local officials on the spot and expressed serious concern over the impact on public health ahead of the Pushkaralu.

He then directed authorities to identify the polluting units and issue notices immediately. The instructions were expected to be acted upon without delay given the importance of the issue.

However, during a review meeting held on Monday, Pawan was surprised to learn that even basic notices had not been served to some of the entities responsible for the pollution.

The Deputy Chief Minister questioned senior officials over the delay and asked how such a sensitive matter could remain unattended despite clear directions from the government.

Pawan specifically instructed officials to issue notices to Andhra Paper Mills for allegedly releasing untreated waste into the river. He also ordered notices against the Pollution Control Board officials who failed to act on the matter.

In a strong message to the bureaucracy, Pawan directed disciplinary action against the officials who ignored his earlier orders. He also assured officers that if they face any political pressure while taking action, they can bring it to his notice and he would raise the matter in the Cabinet or Assembly if required.
