IAS Sri Lakshmi Finally Gets Posting But…

One of the most controversial IAS officers in India, Sri Lakshmi had faced several allegations in Obulapuram mining company scam amongst others. She was a crucial member of the YS Rajasekhar Reddy administration back in the day.

Coming to the topic now, Sri Lakshmi, who had been in the bad books of the NDA administration was without a position till today. However, she has finally managed to secure an official posting from the government, but there is a catch here.

The Andhra Pradesh Government has appointed senior IAS officer Srilakshmi as Special Chief Secretary (General Administration Department). Shamsher Singh Rawat, who was handling additional responsibilities in this post, has been relieved.

The interesting observation here is that Sri Lakshmi is going to retire from the IAS position in four days, and this appointment comes just a few days before the same. This can be seen as a namesake appointment at the last minute to pacify the senior IAS official.

For a senior IAS official who had previously served as the chief secretary in the YSR administration, this appointment in the general administrative department must be a significant step down. But such are the consequences for the earlier misdeeds and inappropriate conduct.
