YCP Occupied Goa Governor’s Land?

Questions over YSRCP office land allotments have resurfaced after Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju made serious allegations regarding a party office in Vizianagaram. He claimed the land on which the district office was built actually belongs to his family.

Addressing the media during his visit to Vizianagaram, Ashok Gajapathi Raju alleged that a private property was shown as government land and later used for constructing the YSRCP district office. He questioned how such a change could happen without the knowledge of the original owners.

He said he had lodged a complaint with the District Collector nearly a year ago and followed it up again a few months later. However, he expressed disappointment that there had been no meaningful response from the authorities so far.

Gajapathi Raju remarked that such actions reflected how laws were allegedly misused during the previous government. At the same time, he cautioned that such practices cannot continue forever and said the administration must act on genuine complaints.

Responding to a question about making such remarks while serving as a Governor, he clarified that he had resigned from the TDP before assuming constitutional office. He added that while a Governor must stay away from active politics, that does not prevent him from speaking about issues concerning his family.

Interestingly, throughout the interaction, Ashok Gajapathi Raju avoided directly naming YSRCP while making his allegations. His remarks have now brought the spotlight back on the controversy surrounding the party offices constructed during the previous regime.
