The other day, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made a key announcement regarding the Capital.
“We will go to elections with MAVIGUN. Those who will want MAVIGUN, will vote for us. Those who want Amaravati, will vote for them. We will see who wins,” Jagan Mohan Reddy announced.
Keeping aside the pros and cons about this decision, Jagan Mohan Reddy is yet to make clear some important things regarding MAVIGUN.
MAVIGUN, as we all know, is three cities – Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur.
This is similar to his earlier proposal of three capitals – Executive Capital (Vizag), Legislative Capital (Amaravati), and Judicial Capital (Kurnool).
So, where will be the Secretariat, the High Court, and the Assembly in MAVIGUN?
Currently, Chandrababu Naidu is already constructing these buildings in Amaravati. Will Jagan continue these in those buildings itself?
In such case, it is more like the Hyderabad model.
Hyderabad City is expanded over the years. A few years ago, the outskirts are now the center of the city. But Jagan is expanding Amaravati right at the start in the name of MAVIGUN.
Another case is he will not use the buildings constructed by Chandrababu Naidu and spread them across the three cities.
This is again similar to his three capitals idea except for the fact that the three cities now are not very far like in the case of his earlier plan (Vizag, Amaravati, Kurnool.
It is unlikely that Jagan will reveal that strategy before 2029 elections. If Chandrababu Naidu’s buildings are continued, his MAVIGUN plan will fall flat.
If they are not continued, it will be similar to three capital plan which was rejected previously.
