Cabinet Expansion: Well Calculated Move By Pawan Kalyan?

Speculations are on for quite sometime about Chandrababu Naidu expanding his cabinet.

Buzz is that Janasena is seeking one more berth in this expansion. Earlier Pawan Kalyan wanted it for Nagababu but now, he may have to give way for Konatala Ramakrishna, a BC leader in Uttarandhra.

Janasena currently has three Ministers in the Cabinet and two of them are from the Kapu Community.

If Nagababu gets that, he will become the third Kapu Minister in the Cabinet. So, choosing a BC leader will ensure right mix.

It is noteworthy that within the Jana Sena party, there is a prevailing view that including Konathala who belongs to the Gavara community in the cabinet would benefit both the party and the government.

There is also a rumor that Janasena may get two berths so that Nagababu is also accommodated. Also, Konathala is known to be a Veteran leader with clear understanding of problems of Uttarandhra.

Konathala, hailing from Visakhapatnam in the Uttarandhra region, had previously won elections as both an MP and an MLA.

He also served as a minister during the Congress party’s tenure. He initially wanted to join YSR Congress but changed mind at the last minute.

Subsequently, after a wait of nearly seven years, he joined the Jana Sena Party. He contested the 2024 elections on a Jana Sena ticket from the Anakapalli constituency and emerged victorious.
