The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam had been largely amplifying the facilities and method of operations at Tirumala in order to comply with the requirements of the pilgrims. Enhanced queue mechanisms and quick darshan arrangements have been working well.
Now the TTD is back in the news for a good reason by arranging break darshan for 116 year old lady, who went viral last week for climbing the Tirumala steps and reaching the temple.
Incidentally, the video of this elderly lady named Navaneetamma who is aged 116 years old climbing the Tirumala steps went viral last Saturday. There was an instant round of praise for this elderly woman for showing so much devotional spirit and commitment to climb the sacred Tirumala steps at this age, which is physically impossible for me.
This video quickly reached TTD chief BR Naidu and he enquired the whereabouts of this lady. It was established that she was a native of Tamil Nadu and had been staying in Tirupati. The TTD vigilance acted quickly and identified the lady. It was followed by the decision from the board to arrange break, Darshan for Navaneetamma and her family.
