Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently created history by becoming the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of the country. He has been the head of the Indian government for the last 3 terms and is not slowing down one bit either.
But there have been frequent complaints about Modi not sitting in front of the Media and taking unscripted questions from journalists.
This is being particularly pointed out by international media when Modi is out on foreign trips as they ask why the Indian PM is not taking questions like other global leaders.
During Modi’s ongoing New Zealand visit, a local journalist questioned Indian High Commissioner Rudrendra Tandon about why Prime Minister Modi doesn’t hold media interactions.
In response, he explained that most people in India live in rural areas and prefer to speak directly with leaders rather than through intermediaries. He elaborated that Modi interacts directly with the people, which is why he follows that approach.
Tandon noted that Modi who got elected as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time is one of the longest-serving Prime Ministers in the country. He gave an earnest response to this question that is being repeatedly raised, but again, a few social media are saying this explanation is too convenient and monotonous.
