One of the hallmark investment projects that are being executed by the government of Andhra Pradesh is the establishment of Google data Centre in Vizag. This billion dollar project is going to be one of the hallmark investment sprees in Andhra Pradesh and the state is bracing for the same.
However, there is an ugly political narrative that is being spun around this massive investment project, and this is being done by the YCP ecosystem. They are trying to reduce this data centre to a simple piece of machinery and spreading the narrative that it would not generate any human jobs.
However, the fundamental difference here is that this Google data centre is not just a piece of computer machinery, but it will also generate a complete ecosystem surrounding it. The same was confirmed by IT minister Lokesh as he said Google is not confining itself to a data centre, and it is also establishing a proximity centre here.
The Google AI Hub is not just a data center. It’s about building a complete AI ecosystem around it. The creation of 5,000 jobs in the Google associated logistics park is the first major step in that journey – many more will follow, Lokesh confirmed a short while back.
The most important factor here is that AI is going to be the future of technology and AP is doing the right thing by starting early. But it appears that YCP is hell bent on spreading misinformation on this rather than contribute to the state development, a common social media user remarked.
