The biggest protest in India in recent years is currently unfolding in the form of the cockroach janta party movement against the education system in India. This protest has reached Jantar Mantar and it is piling up against education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.
While there is a lot of public confrontation with the police that is happening, the matter has now reached the Supreme Court.
However, the Supreme Court had a shocking reaction to this development as the chief Justice made a very unexpected remark.
Incidentally, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the police brutality and atrocities committed during the protests. The lawyers representing the petitioners urged the judge to watch the video, pointing out the barbaric manner in which the police had treated and injured the students.
The CJI remarked, “We are not interested in watching the video; we do not have the time for it. Don’t waste our time.”
Ironically, this coin term of cockroach was initially put forward by chief Justice himself when he remarked this comment in the court. This immediately became a social media sensation and has now transformed into to a full-fledged movement.
