Possibly for the first time in his tenure as the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is facing a significant protest in Delhi with regard to the ongoing commotion against NEET exam hiatus. Students have been pressurising him to fire the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, but the PM is reluctant to do the same.
However, this protest is gaining significance and support every single day with celebrities also starting to step out in support of students consistently.
So it is going to be a matter of time before the central government acts on this scenario or else, the damage could be pretty strong. So Prime Minister Narendra Modi has posted on social media as he shared his first reaction.
Modi said Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth and added that the government has decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks.
Alongside, Modi directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students.
Modi closed out his statement with a pretty strong warning to those running the protest as he said “Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.” This could be an indication that the political intervention of the protest could face the consequences soon.
But the fundamental point that must be noted is that the main purpose of this protest is to get Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his position of education Minister. Unless that is fulfilled, this protest might be continuing.
