The permanent campus of IIM Visakhapatnam is nearing completion, with around 95% of the construction work now finished. Built at an estimated cost of ₹450 crore, the prestigious institute’s new campus is expected to become fully operational soon, giving a major boost to higher education infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.
Spread across 241.5 acres, the land for the campus was allotted in December 2020. Construction has progressed steadily over the past few years, with most of the key academic and residential facilities already completed. Academic blocks, student hostels, administrative buildings, faculty offices, and essential infrastructure are ready, while the remaining works, including the auditorium and a few support facilities, are in the final stage.
The new campus has been designed as a modern, eco friendly institution with spacious classrooms, research facilities, residential quarters, sports infrastructure, and green spaces. A large solar power system has also been installed as part of the institute’s sustainability efforts.
Established in 2015 under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, IIM Visakhapatnam has been operating from a temporary campus. The completion of its permanent campus marks a major milestone for the institute and is expected to strengthen Visakhapatnam’s position as a leading education and innovation hub in the country.
