Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s Metro ride has become a major talking point. Instead of using a special convoy, he bought a ticket, travelled with regular passengers and spoke to people during the journey. The simple gesture quickly grabbed attention and videos from the visit spread widely on social media.
The visit looked well planned to send a message that the Chief Minister wants to stay connected with the public. Meeting commuters and checking the Metro system gave him positive publicity and impressed many supporters.
At the same time, critics say good visuals alone are not enough. They believe people expect faster development, better public services and quick delivery of election promises.
The Metro ride has certainly helped Vijay’s public image. But in the end, people will judge his government more by its performance than by headline making moments.
