Naidu’s Special Focus On Vizag Bay City Project

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has made some crucial remarks during a review meeting on the Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER) on Wednesday. While stressing the necessity to connect Eastern India and Western India to improve road and rail connectivity, thus attracting more investments and thus speeding up the AP’s development, Chandrababu also pushed for Bay City Project in Visakhapatnam. Naidu reviewed the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) reclassification and the Visakhapatnam Bay City project.

Chandrababu said the ongoing national focus on East-to-West connectivity should be used to bring new projects and industries to Andhra Pradesh. Naidu said PM Narendra Modi had recently highlighted the importance of East-to-West connectivity, and Andhra Pradesh should prepare projects that fit into this vision. He also asked officials to regularly inform people about the government’s development works, the benefits of new projects, and the employment opportunities they will create.

Bay City Project in Vizag

Chandrababu directed officials to set up a special executive committee for the Visakhapatnam Bay City project and ensure that all major projects in the region are linked together for better results. He said the government should focus on sectors such as Global Capability Centres (GCCs), fintech, logistics, and integrated development.

He also asked officials to modernise the Visakhapatnam Zoo and develop it into a major tourist attraction, saying it would add value as the city grows into an international destination.

Calling the Bay City project the key to the development of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, Chandrababu said every area from Mulapeta Port in Srikakulam district to the Akhanda Godavari Project in Rajamahendravaram should be developed to attract investments. He said tourism destinations, industries, and other sectors across the region should be improved and more Central funds should be secured for the project.
