Is Jagan’s Security Really at Risk?

YCP MPs met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested stronger security for Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. They also complained about alleged DSC recruitment irregularities and claimed that cases are being filed against YSRCP leaders for political reasons. Amit Shah reportedly assured them that their concerns would be examined.

However, the Andhra Pradesh government says Jagan is already getting full security. State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has said there has been no reduction in his security. According to the government, the main problem is that YSRCP often brings more people to Jagan’s meetings than the police permission allows, making security arrangements difficult.

Political analysts have a different view. They say there is no clear evidence that Jagan’s security has been reduced. Some also argue that Jagan’s speeches are often provocative and that some of his supporters make aggressive comments, which can increase political tension. NDA leaders and supporters also point to Jagan’s remarks seen as backing the viral “Rappa Rappa” slogans , arguing that such statements could encourage confrontational politics.

At the same time, analysts say every political leader, whether in power or in the opposition, deserves proper security. They add that security should be based on intelligence reports and threat assessments, not political arguments.

Whether Jagan’s security needs to be increased will ultimately depend on the assessment of the security agencies and the Centre’s decision after reviewing the YSRCP’s complaint.
