Daily ₹6 Cr Loss! What’s Happening At Bharathi Cements?

Bharathi Cements is facing a fresh issue at its Kadapa plant, with the dispute over limestone mining operations now reaching the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The company has alleged that some people, including former contract workers, are blocking access to the mining area and disrupting the movement of limestone to the plant. Bharathi Cement has told the court that the disruption is affecting its operations and causing a loss of around ₹6 crore every day.

The company has approached the High Court seeking police protection, saying normal mining and transportation activities need to continue.

The issue has also taken a political turn. Bharathi Cement is associated with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and some of Jagan’s supporters and media outlets have alleged that there could be a government hand behind the developments.

However, government officials have rejected these allegations and maintained that the matter is related to the local dispute and the alleged obstruction of mining operations.

There have also been earlier concerns raised by local people over employment, wages and other issues connected with the cement plant.

For now, the key issue is the alleged disruption of limestone mining and transportation. With the company claiming a ₹6 crore daily loss, all eyes are now on the High Court’s decision.
