Where Did 72 Lakh Voters Go In Telangana?

It is already known that the central election commission had been very active when it comes to carrying out the special drive to validate the total votes in the country. This is an elaborate procedure to digitalise all the votes in the country.

As a part of the process, Andhra Pradesh recently got an updated list where more than 44 lakh votes were found to be off records. There could be a significant cut in the number of voters in the upcoming election.

Now, Telangana is witnessing a far more bigger problem with the volume of SIR votes nearly doubling that of Andhra Pradesh’s.

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of elector rolls in Telangana has recorded a total of 3,38,26,448 voters across the state. This would essentially mean that the officials have digitized 2,64,87,214 enumeration forms, which means 78.30% of the forms are complete.

The revision also shows that more than 72 lakh citizens are uncollectable and this is the shocking part here. Shockingly enough, nearly 21% of the total number of votes in Telangana have not yet calibrated their votes.

If this is the procedure that is followed, then as many as 72 lakh votes could be taken off the Telangana voters list, which could significantly change the volume of the votes here in the state. The entire voting infrastructure of the state could be changed once this happens.

More importantly, everyone is eager to know what happened to these voters in the first place as Telangana state is completing yearly three years since the last assembly election here.
