The Enforcement Directorate has stepped up its probe into the YS Viveka murder case with searches underway at multiple locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Officials are conducting searches at six places in Hyderabad and Pulivendula as part of the investigation.
One of the key locations being searched is the residence of Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in Kokapet, Hyderabad. ED teams from the Hyderabad zonal office are reportedly examining documents and other material as part of the ongoing probe.
In Pulivendula, officials also reached Avinash Reddy’s residence. As the house was locked, officers reportedly waited outside before calling his uncle Manohar Reddy and getting the premises opened for the searches.
The ED is also conducting searches at the residences of another accused Sunil Yadav, Devireddy Sivasankara Reddy and Yerragangi Reddy. The agency registered a separate case based on the CBI investigation and is looking into alleged political connections and financial transactions linked to the murder.
The money trail has now become a major focus of the investigation. The ED is reportedly examining the source and movement of the Rs 4 crore allegedly given to the accused and trying to establish where the money came from and how it was transferred.
