It is already known that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on an official visit to the France a couple of months ago. This was an elaborate visit where he met United States president Donald Trump.
This visit had a lot of significance associated with it due to the prevailing bilateral relationship between India and United States.
However, there is an interesting piece of information regarding this coming together between Modi and President Trump, which is grabbing the attention. The fact that it has come from official members of the White House is adding authenticity to the same.
US Ambassador Sergio Gor says India’s MEA had requested that media be present at the Modi-Trump meeting in France, but that there should be no questions. Trump initially agreed too.
According to Gor, after the leaders’ opening remarks, Trump looked at the cameras and asked, “Any questions?” The interaction then continued for around 45 minutes, with journalists questioning Trump while PM Modi sat beside him.
It can be understood that the Modi team had requested Trump not to hold a conference with questions specifically, and Trump had agreed to the same. However, Trump went out and the exact opposite as he answered the questions for 45 minutes while Modi was seated right next to him.
Modi is infamous for refusing to give press conferences and answer questions from the press and this continues abroad too. So he might have faced a problematic situation while seated next to Trump while he was answering questions non stop for 45 minutes.
