Polavaram

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that ₹840.41 crore has been approved for upgrading the 45.09 km Buttaigudem LND Peta and Pattiseema Kovvur sections of NH 365BB in Andhra Pradesh.

The highway will be upgraded to a two lane road with paved shoulders, improving connectivity to the Polavaram Irrigation Project and several surrounding villages. The project is also expected to benefit the agriculturally rich region.

Gadkari said the improved road network will help in faster and safer transportation of agricultural produce, including tobacco, sugarcane and palm products, to markets. It will also strengthen farm to market connectivity and support local livelihoods.

The upgraded stretch is expected to improve connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while providing better access to important Godavari ghats, Polavaram Dam and other tourist and pilgrimage destinations in the region.

The project is also likely to improve the movement of pilgrims and visitors during the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027. According to Gadkari, the development will give a boost to agriculture, tourism, pilgrimage, trade and overall socio economic development in the region.
