Sai Reddy Starts Politics With Caste and Religion

In a sensational political comment, former YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy questioned whether Andhra Pradesh should continue to be ruled by just two families and two dominant communities.

Vijay Sai Reddy asked whether only people from the Reddy and Kamma communities are considered eligible to become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He questioned why no one from the Kapu or Velama communities has become CM and why leaders from BC, SC and ST communities have not got an opportunity to lead the state.

Sai Reddy didn’t stop there. He also extended his political comments by bringing religion. He asked why not any leader from Christian and Muslim communities get the chance to lead the state.”There are several capable and eligible leaders from many other communities who can rule Andhra Pradesh,” Sai Reddy said, questioning the dominance of a few communities in state politics.

Vijay Sai Reddy, once considered the right-hand man of former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, recently announced that he would soon launch a new political party. His latest comments, seen as part of his emerging political strategy, have triggered a fresh debate over caste representation and political power in Andhra Pradesh.

With his sharp and punchy comments, Sai Reddy has certainly stirred the hornet’s nest in AP politics. But it is too early to predict Sai Reddy’s true intentions behind his political statements. Even Vijay Sai Reddy also belongs to the Reddy community, which itself is a dominant community in the state. Let us wait and see, at whom he is directly hitting it out. Many political observers believe that Sai Reddy’s new political party may cause damage to Jagan Reddy & Co.

Very recently, Sai Reddy made severe comments against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and also Jagan for his coterie.
