Huge Fan Rush Leads to Cancellation of Vijay’s UK Event

After the grand success of CM Vijay meeting up with Ajith that caught everyone’s attention across the whole social media in a positive way. As, so he is in the UK for an important investment-focused meeting being scheduled. His office has said that the Tamil Nadu delegation signed agreements involving around ₹12,300 crore in investments, with the projects expected to create more than 9,400 jobs in the state.

However, the UK visit has received unwanted negative attention after a public event in London was cancelled because of safety concerns. Vijay’s London visit has now become a talking point because of crowd-control issues.

Hundreds of Vijay’s fans and TVK Followers gathered near The Shard, one of London’s most famous buildings. Many fans had reportedly waited for hours to see the actor-turned-politician. However, the Police raised concerns about crowd safety, and Vijay’s team announced that the event had to be cancelled because they did not have the required police permission.

The controversy did not end there. Videos and social media posts also showed large groups of Vijay supporters gathering in London. Claims on social media by many influencers said that a crowd had blocked the entrance to a hospital and caused problems for emergency vehicles. A video circulating online appears to show Police asking supporters to move away and keep the area clear.

The incident has led to criticism of the way some supporters behaved during the visit. There has also been concern among members of the Indian and Tamil communities in the UK that such incidents could create a negative impression of the wider Indian diaspora. However, Vijay’s official team and Tamil Nadu CMO are yet to respond over these allegations.

Vijay’s TVK IT wing later appealed to supporters not to gather outside his hotel or along his travel route, citing public safety and the request of the London Police. It is a reminder that fan enthusiasm needs to be balanced with respect for local laws, public spaces and emergency services especially when a public figure is visiting another country as a Chief Minister.
