Arvind Kejriwal And Family Missing From Delhi Voter List

The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by Election Commission of India has once again triggered a major political storm. This time, names of former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party’s president Arvind Kejriwal and his family members have gone missing from the draft voter list.

The issue surfaced during ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise happening across the national capital territory. The Delhi Election Commission issued official notices to Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, son Pulkit, and elderly parents.

Election officials placed their names under unmapped with last SIR category among 110 electors in New Delhi constituency segment. AAP leaders lashed out at election authorities alleging biased actions taking place to favor their political bosses.

Election Commission officials quickly clarified the situation saying names are not deleted permanently from voting records. Authorities explained that notices were issued because voter details could not automatically map with previous survey databases.

Poll body assured that after standard verification process finishes, all eligible family members will be included in final list.

It is a known many political parties have been making a lot of hue and cry over SIR. They have alleged that millions of voters are being deliberately deleted during this controversial exercise.

Kejriwal alleged that nearly 47 lakh electors were removed under absent or shifted categories. Election department maintained that ongoing house to house verification follows strict legal guidelines to maintain clean electoral rolls.

The final updated voter list for Delhi will be officially published on November 6 after resolving all claims and objections.
