ChatGPT Astra Almost Booked TTD Room: Is This Worrying?

Artificial Intelligence is proving to be a major threat with each passing day. Recently, we have seen how OpenAI admitted that its bots accessed multiple government websites and gathered information. The AI bots reportedly went beyond their intended purpose and tried to bypass security controls on government websites.

Now, shockingly, the AI agent ChatGPT-6 Astra tried to book a room in Tirumala through the TTD website. Going into the details, tech enthusiast Tech by Pawan shared a video of the whole process on his Instagram page.

According to the video, he asked the AI agent ChatGPT-6 Astra to book a room in Tirumala for December 21. Using the user’s login details, the AI agent accessed the TTD website and navigated through the available options. It reportedly selected the required options and took the booking process almost to completion.

However, the process stopped at the payment stage as no bank or payment details were provided, according to the tech enthusiast. The incident has drawn attention to the ability of advanced AI agents to navigate websites and perform tasks that normally require human interaction.

However, a TTD IT official reportedly clarified that accommodation cannot be booked through the TTD website without a valid darshan ticket. This means the AI agent’s attempt did not result in a confirmed accommodation booking.

Meanwhile, as we are witnessing how AI is being misused widely and even leading to communal clashes and accessing government websites, there is a strong need for the government to step in and make stricter rules to avoid such untoward incidents and avoid the misusing of AI.
