Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali is gearing up for a grand release on the 16th of this month. Directed by Rahul Sanrktiyan, the film also stars Rashmika as the lead. The film marks Vijay-Rashmika’s first outing after their marriage. Set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema during the pre-Independence era, the film mixes action, drama, and commercial elements by exposing the brutal atrocities of the British. Surprisingly, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh praised the film’s trailer.
Taking to X, Lokesh shared the film’s trailer and wrote an appreciation post for the film unit. Calling it an immersive experience, Lokesh said, “The detailing in recreating 1800s Rayalaseema and capturing that heart-wrenching era of British-era famine and oppression is phenomenal.”
Lokesh’s post marks the trend of politicians showing interest in backing films that are culturally rooted strongly. For instance, some BRS leaders, including BRS Working President KTR, recently openly appreciated and owned Nani’s The Paradise, praising the film unit and its theme connected to the Telangana Movement. Even Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also, in a tweet, appreciated director Srikanth Odela, acknowledging his Telangana roots.
Similarly, Lokesh has now appreciated team Ranabaali, acknowledging the fact that the film is deeply rooted in the Rayalaseema culture. These politicians’ influence in drawing attention to the film will benefit the filmmakers. If the film becomes successful, it will also create a positive atmosphere around the politicians.
