Assam Girl Found Dead On AP Railway Track, Govt Orders Probe!

In a shocking tragedy, a 21-year-old girl from Assam suspiciously died in AP. The state government has taken the case seriously and started the probe. Going into details, Himashree Boro, a BBA student from Guwahati in Assam, came to Vizag on September 16 with her 10 friends for dance performances. While five members of their group returned home after a few days, Himashree and four others stayed back in Vizag.

On October 6, Himashree booked her return journey with a berth in the 3rd AC coach of the Silchar Express to travel to Guwahati. However, she missed the train and waited at Vizag railway station to board the Vivek Express. She called her friend Jyoti Choudhary and sought help in getting a general ticket. Jyoti sent a young man named Abhinash to assist her.

When the Vivek Express arrived at Vizag railway station at 1.36 am, Himashree and Abhinash approached the TC and requested a berth in either the third AC or sleeper coach. The TC reportedly asked them for money. As the train began moving, Himashree rushed to board it and got into the already crowded S-2 coach. Abhinash handed over her luggage before leaving the station.

At around 2.39 am, Himashree called her friend Jyoti and reportedly told her that some passengers inside the coach were drinking alcohol. She also recorded and sent a three-second video before the call got disconnected. Jyoti informed Himashree’s classmate, Anoop Tiwari, about the incident. Anoop then called the railway helpline and complained that some people were harassing Boro.

When the train reached Srikakulam Road railway station at 3.56 am, railway police checked the coach but could not find Himashree. They found her bag and suitcase inside the coach. However, the RPF personnel reportedly left without conducting further inquiries at that time.

Quite shockingly, Himashree Boro’s body was found near the railway track at Penubarthi in Ponduru mandal of Srikakulam district on October 7. The Palasa railway police registered a case and shifted the body to the Srikakulam govt hospital. After the postmortem examination, the body was handed over to her family members on October 8.

Srikakulam SP KV Maheshwara Reddy visited the scene. The authorities have formed seven police teams involving 21 personnel to investigate the case. Another team of 4 RPF personnel are also working on the case. Investigators are examining whether Himashree was killed when someone pushed her off from a moving train or did she accidentally fall. Her mysterious death became an inter-state issue and investigation into her death became very crucial.

Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media that he had requested AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and Central Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to ensure a comprehensive investigation into Himashree Boro’s death. He also said that a police officer from Assam had been sent to AP to coordinate with the Andhra police in the investigation.

It is really tragic that a young girl lost her life and AP police took the matter seriously as AP’s reputation is at stake. Let’s hope justice is served in this case.
