The IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh had been actively emphasising on the need for state governments in India to have a healthy competition amongst each other to invite new investments and private projects.
Now it appears that the government of Andhra Pradesh is walking the talk as there is a very positive development in this direction. The fact that the government of Andhra Pradesh was able to successfully grab three huge automotive projects that were bound to go to Tamil Nadu in indicating the same.
Going into the story, Hwashin, Seoyon and Iwamet have signed MoUs with the Andhra Pradesh Government to establish manufacturing facilities in Anantapur, choosing AP over Tamil Nadu for their expansion plans.
For those wondering about the volume of these project, Hwashin will deliver ₹850 crore investment and create 100 jobs while Seoyin will come with ₹514 crore investment and 918 jobs. Iwamet will bring around ₹250 crore investment and create 400 jobs.
The three projects are expected to generate 1,418 jobs and strengthen Anantapur’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. This is an addition to the multiple automotive projects that are already on the way to Andhra Pradesh.
From being in a position where the previous government was scaring away companies from the state with reckless policies, Andhra Pradesh has now arrived in a position to grab projects from neighbouring state.
