The liquor sales in Telangana for the New Year have brought huge revenue for the state’s treasury and touched records. According to the officials, in the last four days 758.76 crore of liquor sales have been reported.
These numbers are surprising even though the state government and police department have called off the New Year celebrations and denied permissions for private events. About 8.61 crore cases of liquor and 6.62 crore cases of beers were sold from December 28th to December 31st.
Just from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts, there have been Rs 300 crore sales of liquor. As per the officials, when compared to last year’s sales and revenues, this year’s liquor revenue is more than Rs 200 crore.
However, these are just the estimation numbers. The full and final figures are yet to be out.
