Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav made controversial comments that he will not accept a vaccine against Covid-19 as he doesn’t trust the vaccine that will be given out by the BJP government.
“I will not get vaccinated given by the BJP government as I don’t trust it. When Samajwadi Party (SP) will come to power, we will provide free vaccine to each and everyone in the state,” said Akhilesh. Further this was the same BJP government that wanted to get rid of corona virus by clapping, mocked the SP leader.
These statements invited criticism. UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya demanded an apology for such comments. Reacting on this comments union minister Anurag Thakur said, “What can be more unfortunate than a young leader linking Covid-19 vaccine with a political party. It shows Akhilesh Yadav can’t think above politics.”
Meanwhile India is on the verge of approving its first Covid-19 vaccine, after an expert panel of the country’s drug regulator cleared the way for Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
