TDP president and Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was happy to have worked with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a few other business tycoons in establishing the world-class higher education institute, Indian School of Business, in Hyderabad.
Going down the memory lane, Naidu tweeted: “On a piece of land I’d earmarked stands a world-class higher education institute driven by a meritocratic culture. Privileged to have worked with Atal ji and all the business tycoons who made it possible. Keep shining, @ISBedu!”
He reminded that the premier institute was set up in 2001 with an aim to impart quality education to aspiring entrepreneurs in the Telugu state. Twenty years afterwards, the institute continues to groom future leaders for India and world.
Spread in a sprawling 260 acre campus, the Indian School of Business comprises a recreation centre, an academic centre and four student villages for accommodation. Over 140-250 students are accommodated in the residential houses.
The ISB has another campus in Mohali with four research institutes. Both the campuses offer post graduate programmes along with short-term courses, in partnership with global business schools.
The former CM is known for his vision and administration skills. Even foreign leaders like former US President Bill Clinton showed interest in meeting up with Naidu during his tour to India when he wanted to talk technology. When Bill Gates looked outside the United States to build Microsoft’s first offshore development centre, he built it in Hyderabad.
The ruling YCP government in Andhra Pradesh might be criticising Naidu when he proclaimed that he built Brand Hyderabad but many of his supporters say it is true that Chandrababu Naidu had provided the necessary eco-system in the city to develop it as the Information Technology (IT) hub.
