The police have arrested a serial killer who brutally killed a woman in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad on January 4th. After killing Venkatamma, the accused serial killer Maina Ramulu burnt her face with petrol.
Ramulu, who was serving the jail sentence escaped from Erragadda hospital in 2011. The police announced that his motto is to target women visiting shops. So far, he killed 18 women in the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, Mahabubnagar, and Rangareddy districts. The joint team of Hyderabad and Rachakonda Police solved the case. Ramulu is a 45-year-old stone-cutter and was previously arrested in 21 cases including 16 murder cases. His parents got him married at the age of 21 years, but his wife eloped with another man which made him get the grudge against women and started killing them. In February 2011, he was given a life sentence. While serving the same at the Cherlapally Central Jail, he got admitted to Erragadda mental hospital but he escaped from the hospital in December 2011.
He committed few more murders and the police arrested him again in 2013, but was later released from jail in 2018 after an appeal petition. He again committed two murders and was again arrested in July 2020. He again came out of the jail and killed at least two women.
