A lawyer couple was hacked to death in Telangana’s Peddapalli main road in broad daylight. The video of men attacking them to death and the victim identifying the attackers, has emerged. The incident took place near Kalvacherla under Ramagiri police station limits in Peddapalli district.
Gattu Vaman Rao and Gattu Magamani were returning to Hyderabad after appearing a case in a local court in Manthani. The attackers were reportedly following their car, blocked it, and attacked the couple with machetes. The driver fled the spot.
In the video, Nagamani was seen stuck between the seats of the car they were traveling in, injured and shocked. Her husband Vamanarao is seen bleeding and lying on the road. He identified himself and also the man who attacked him. Later the couple was shifted to the hospital but they both died due to injuries.
He named Kunta Srinivas as the man who attempted to kill him, who is said to be a member of the TRS party. The lawyer couple earlier filed a petition about the alleged custodial death of a Dalit man in Manthani police station. Telangana high court has extended protection to them after they complained of alleged harassment by the police for seeking a probe into the custodial death of Seelam Rangaiah last year. Earlier, the couple sought protection claiming a threat to their life.
