On Friday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued the Assembly election notification for five years. West Bengal is also a part of it and the Assembly elections will be held in eight phases.
Once again the ECI has finalised the election schedule that would highly benefit the BJP. In 2019, the ECI has held the Lok Saba polls of Bengal in seven phases and BJP won 18 seats and made the ruling Trinamool Congress to sweat for the lead. And now the Assembly polls in eight phases means BJP will have all time to work on the strategies and counter Mamata Banerjee.
However, one person feels that Mamata will retain her power and he is popular political strategist Prashant Kishor. “One of the key battles FOR DEMOCRACY in India will be fought in West Bengal, and the people of Bengal are ready with their MESSAGE and determined to show the RIGHT CARD – #BanglaNijerMeyekeiChay (Bengal Only Wants its Own Daughter),” tweeted PK. Concluding his tweet, he further wrote, “PS: On 2nd May, hold me to my last tweet.”
Mamata has been at logger heads with BJP, PM Modi and Amit Shah. She will go all guns blazing at BJP and taking Prashant Kishor’s help will certainly give her the edge. A poll pact with RJD is also under progress.
Bengalis verdict will be known on May 2nd.
