New Bulletproof Vehicles For Jagan, Ministers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Cabinet ministers and police officers will soon get new bulletproof vehicles. The YCP government has allocated Rs 6.75 crore for the purchase of these vehicles and issued orders to this effect on Wednesday.

A total of 10 bulletproof vehicles, including 5 Scorpios and 5 Tata Hexas, would be bought with the allocated funds. While each bulletproof Scropio would cost Rs 65 lakh, a Tata Hexa would cost Rs 70 lakh.

The new vehicles are being bought following complaints from ministers with the existing ones. There is buzz that a minister even developed health problem due to inconvenience in travelling in the old vehicle. The new vehicles are expected to give extra security to the chief minister, ministers and police officers.

The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues were given new bulletproof vehicles in June 2019 after the YCP was voted to power in the state.
