On International Women’s Day, a grave insulting incident has occurred in Vizianagaram district and it involved former union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju. While campaigning for the municipal elections in the district, a woman threw petals of flowers on the TDP leader.
However, the petals fell on Ashok’s eyes causing discomfort for him. Angered by this Ashok Gajapathi Raju slapped the woman and all this happened in public. Local leaders and cadres who were with Ashok Gajapathi Raju were shocked by the act.
The TDP leader claimed that the woman deliberately threw flowers at his eyes. The woman TDP Karyakatha is yet to be identified. Surprisingly, no leader did utter a word on seeing this incident and for a brief moment, there was a pin drop silence. Later the TDP campaign went ahead led by Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
