Tirupati By-Poll: Who Is In Race For BJP’s Ticket?

Now that it’s official that BJP is contesting the by-election for Tirupati Lok Sabha seat, the focus now shifted towards the candidates in the race. There is a big discussion going on within the party and the leaks are reaching the media.

According to these leaks, a name has popped up and he is former IAS officer Dasari Srinivasulu. In the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Dasari has hands on experience in many departments. Post retirement, Dasari has joined the BJP and now he is the leading the race among the contenders for the Tirupati by-elections. Internally AP BJP has prepared a list of candidates who have the ability to contest and Dasari’s name is in it.

Simultaneously there are names of Ravela Kishore, All India Services former officer Sunil Kumar that are under consideration. This hints that there is a huge competition among leaders for Tirupati by-poll and we hear that the BJP will announce the name in another couple of days later.

If BJP announces the name, the candidate will get into the ground to win the people’s trust. Even though the Election Commission is yet to announce the by-poll date, from the inside sources we hear that it is around the corner.

But for BJP it is a tough road because there is a huge negative wave floating because of the privatisation row of Vizag steel plant. Sensing the same, Jana Sena Party has handed over the Tirupaty by-poll to BJP.
