Rajugaru, YCP Wins Narasapuram!

It was clean sweep by the YCP in Narsapuram municipality, West Godavari district. Of the total 31 wards in the civic body, the YCP won 24, JSP won 4 while the TDP was confined to just one ward and 2 others won from different wards.

Narsapuram reminds one of YCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju. He had been slamming the ruling YCP and its policies repeatedly by organising press meets regularly.

With the municipality in RRR’s native constituency going into the YCP kitty, can it be construed that the electorate are against the MP. Despite trying to expose the ‘corruption’ and ‘misgovernance’ by the YCP by frequently appearing before the public, the voters seem not to have put in any belief in his words and expressed their loyalty towards the YCP leaders.

Meanwhile, political analysts said that it was the freebies being distributed profusely by the ruling party that have made the voters exercise their franchise in favour of the YCP in the series of polls being held in the state. It is being said that the land distribution scheme is winning the hearts of the public as their dream for an own house is becoming a reality.

RRR’s vitriolic attacks and warnings to the YCP leaders seem to have had no effect on the ruling party leaders and people continued to place their belief in them.

On the other hand, there is buzz that voters are not believing in RRR’s words as he is rarely to be seen in his constituency. Citing threat to his life from the YCP leaders, RRR sought extra security but he had not visited his native constituency giving an opportunity to the voters to put their grievances before him, which could have alienated him from the people.
