Lockdown 4.0: Relief For E-commerce & Salons

Last night the Centre has announced the extension of lockdown till May 31st. But this fourth phase of lockdown has many exemptions especially in Red, Green and Orange zones but tighter lockdown will continue in Containment Zones.

In the exemptions, the big relief is for the E-commerce as the Centre has permitted delivery of all essential and non-essential products in three zones. Amazon, Flipkart are the biggest e-commerce platforms in India and they have suffered hugely in the lockdown. However the Centre made it clear that only essentials and medical stores will be allowed to open in Containment zones.

The states are asked to monitor strictly in the containment zones and they also now have the authority to decide the regions of red, green and orange zones.

The another exemption is opening of salon. Since 50 days barber shops are shut and from Monday, they are allowed to open. But the salons which are placed in shopping malls will continue to be shut as shopping malls and multiplexes are yet to be given green signal.
