The second wave of Covid-19 in India is resulting in huge spike in fresh infections. In the last 24 hours, 89,129 positive cases have been reported and this is the biggest rise in cases in the last six months.
Also the death tally is piling up. 714 people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours and the total death count is 1,64,110. The active cases count is 6,58,909 while India has tested 24,69,59,192 samples as of April 2nd.
Coming to Telangana, the new cases have crossed a thousand mark after nearly four months. 1078 new cases were posted on Friday while Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad and Medchal districts are reporting new cases in high number.
The total number of people who received vaccine so far are 7,30,54,295.
