In a nail-biting thriller, Mamta Banerjee has managed to win Nandigram Assembly seat from where she contested. She defeated her former aide and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari by over 1200 votes.
Till the last round of counting, the lead swung between Mamta and Suvendu. However, finally, Mamta won over Suvendu. Mamta had moved from Bhabanipur constituency and contested in Nandigram against Suvendu purposefully. It was a tough challenge for Mamta and she had finally come out of flying colours.
Mamta’s All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has swept the West Bengal Assembly elections. As of now, TMC is leading in 214 seats out of 292. BJP is confined to 75. CPM and allies are leading in 2 constituencies and others got 1 seat.
With this, Mamata has bagged a resounding victory in Bengal and thus shown her power to the BJP’s top brass. Mamta is once again set to be the CM of Bengal.
